While the list of challenges facing the health care industry continues to grow, Custom Design Benefits has never been more aligned and focused on helping our clients and brokers navigate these choppy waters. With our 16th Annual Customer Conference, we shared how we can work together to address these issues with new solutions.
This year’s conference welcomed some of the brightest minds in the industry, and our attendance numbers reached an all-time high. We explored an array of critical topics, from specialty drugs to emerging cell and gene therapies, and delved into the fascinating world of pharmacogenomics. The discussions were informative and shed light on the future of healthcare benefits.
If you attended our conference, you heard about our 2023 strategic realignment project. We’ve combined like functions across our Group Medical and Consumer Driven Services teams to streamline our operations and enhance our ability to serve you better. This restructuring aims to further align our resources, ultimately improving our responsiveness to your needs.
Also announced at our conference, I am thrilled to introduce our latest tool, TrueCost Connect.
This innovative platform empowers our TrueCost members to find medical providers who support TrueCost in their area. It’s a game-changer that makes navigating healthcare easier and more cost-effective for our members.
Furthermore, I’m proud to report that Custom Design Benefits has successfully renegotiated contracts with our Pharmacy Benefit Managers, Magellan Rx and KPP over the past two years. These negotiations resulted in substantial savings for our clients, totaling nearly $4 million last year and an impressive $2.6 million through July 2023. This achievement exemplifies our unwavering commitment to containing costs while delivering top-notch benefits. But we won’t stop there. We’re in the process of finalizing a new and improved agreement with Magellan Rx effective January 1, 2024.
On top of saving money for our clients, we’ve also been busy raising money to support the American Heart Association with our annual silent auction. With the support and generosity of our customers and vendor partners, we were able to raise nearly $8,000 to help fund lifesaving medical research and prevention education to help save more lives from heart disease.
Thank you all for helping us reach our goal!
We hope you enjoy a recap of the presentations from our Customer Conference in this newsletter. Please contact your Account Manager if you have any questions about the topics or solutions presented.
Sincerely,
Julie D. Mueller
